First they were ripped from the streets of Brooklyn back in the 1950s and sent to Los Angeles, now the LA Dodgers have filed for bankruptcy.
The team and franchise has been in trouble much too many times lately, however, being unable to pay their players, to the tune of tens of millions of dollars as well as past team members, the owner, Frank McCourt decided to file for bankruptcy.
What this means is that the Dodgers have some time to get their financial act together. They’ll have to look at what they ow, what they may take in and see if they can deal with their creditors within the guidelines of the courts.
Businesses and the MLB Commissioner Bud Selig are going to watch intensely as with today’s economic crisis, a smart business entity could swoop in and take over the Dodgers.

It’s a miracle when someone makes a hole-in-one golf shot but when two players do it back to back it redefines the term “miracle shot”.
That’s what happened at the hole No. 17 at the Hesston Golf Park in Wichita, Kansas.
Greg Bontrager and Justin Pressnall achieved the feats and it’s history making for sure. The were on the par 3 hole that is 212 yards.
It was Pressnall who scored first using a six iron. There were four men on the green playing one another. When Pressnall’s shot went into the cup the four were amazed, however, Bontrager went next using a 23 degree hybrid and somehow followed the same path as Pressnall’s tee off and sure enough both players’ balls went in the cup.

With all the bad news going on about the sports world and especially athletes who are constantly in trouble with the law and courts it’s good to see one player devoting himself to a worthy venture.
New NBA draft pick Kemba Walker who is going to the Charlotte Bobcats is reported as saying his new found fame and fortune will be going to taking care of his parents, mom and dad.
That’s better than fast cars and fast women, drugs, and gambling like far too many sports stars nowadays.
It’s good to see a young man who has graduated college and seeing his dreams come true as a major basketball player remembering the good his parents have done for him by vowing to return the favor which should have them very comfortable for the rest of their lives.

There’s nothing like good sportsmanship and when it comes to LeBron James and Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat, they chose to make fun of opposing team member Dirk Nowitzki of the Mavericks.
It’s reported that the two got into some pre-game teasing and taunting of Nowitzki who is injured and in a wheelchair.
Both were reported mocking him by saying things like Did you hear me cough? Think I’m sick.”, said Wade and then James chimed in with, “It’s hard to go from 85 degree weather and then go to 90. Messes with you.”

Another sports celebrity DUI bust has taken place and it’s none other than former Chicago Cubs’ Mark Grace.
Grace was busted in Scottsdale, Arizona on Memorial Day.
He had been reportedly seen weaving in and out of the lanes about 1 am when cops stopped him. Grace admitted he had consumed two glasses of MacCallan Scotch, a potent and expensive brand. He said he had the second glass just five minutes before being stopped which obviously was a very bad idea.
Not only was he pie-eyed drunk, but Grace, 48 didn’t have his license nor ID with him at the time. He was handcuffed and taken to a facility where he had blood drawn to check his blood alcohol level. He was busted for a blood alcohol content of .08, DUI impaired to the slightest degree, and other violations.
