Lance Armstrong Tour de France 2010:The Last One – Lance Armstrong Tweeted today that this year’s Tour de France will be the last that he is going to participate in. Armstrong, who is most famous for overcoming cancer to come back and win more than a handful of Tour De France titles, has had a stellar career that will reportedly be coming to an end.
“It’s been a great ride. Looking forward to three great weeks,” Armstrong said on his Twitter page.
He is currently 38 years old, and returned to the race last year for the first time after a three year absence previous to that. He was still able to contend very well in the race, and finished in third place behind a teammate.

Armstrong was in the process of starting a new team before this year’s race. That led many to believe that perhaps he would plan on competing in the race for a few more years. Unfortunately for Armstrong fans, that does not appear to be the case. The Tour de France starts on Saturday in Belgium, and it would be great to see if Armstrong was able to win one more before retiring.
Armstrong is also known for his philanthropy work. He will likely take more time to focus on that in his retirement.
